I Live For Fridays

Okay, so I know. Most people live for Fridays. But I really, really live for my Fridays.

More particularly, my Friday mornings.

They are like a bright spot in every long hard week, and every Monday morning I count down the days until it's Friday again.

Why you ask?

Because over a year ago, Meredith and I made a tradition of hanging out once a week during the mornings our kids were in preschool.

We loved it so much, we even kept the tradition alive after Jane and Kaeden enrolled in different schools with different days/times this year.

It's not that we do anything particularly exciting - - we usually meet at McDonalds for Egg McMuffins and a large Diet Cokes. Then we head over the the local D.I., make the rounds, and then find ourselves at the Dollar Store across the street.

Basically we just browse around for crap that we don't need, and buy our kids stuff we later regret.

It's seriously the best.

Our mornings always start with us asking each other if there are any errands that need to be run.

Sometimes there's trips to Target [Meredith introduced me to their clearance sections. What the what? How did I miss this for so many years?!?]

Or Hobby Lobby for supplies for whatever craft one or the other is currently endeavoring.

And on days like today, sometimes we just make our way over to Walmart where we pick up a few needed groceries.

It's nothing amazing, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

It's something to look forward to.

Something to depend on.

Something that takes so little effort, yet gives such great returns.

And I get to do it all with one of my most favorite people in the whole world.

We laugh.

And gossip.

Sometimes we cry.

But usually we just give fellow shoppers the side eye and question the overall sanity of humanity.

But I guess hanging at places like the D.I., Dollar Store, and Walmart on a weekly basis, we are bound to see some questionable humans every now and then.

Today's journeys included a stop at Walmart.

Nothing special,

but shoot.

We can make anything special.

Like these freaking amazing shopping carts Walmart introduced.

We were giggling like idiots at their awesomeness.

What the what?  Forward facing with leg room?  Sign these boys up!

And dual purse holders?  Freaking sold!

Where have these been all my life WALMART?!?!?

The boys were absolute angels the entire trip.

And that's hard to say considering their age.  I generally avoid any sort of shopping with Carter for fear I'll have a nervous breakdown on aisle 3.

I think the giant balls might have helped.

I don't know what I'll do when our schedules don't allow for our weekly outings any more.  But if we keep popping kids out within months of each other, maybe it will be a long, long time before we have to worry about it.

Just sayin' MEREDITH.
