About a month ago Kaeden kept asking me to tie one of his baby blankets around his neck, so that he could be a Superhero and 'fly'. He'd then proceed to jump off my couch, bed, whatever with the blanket barely hanging on.
Since it was the first time he's ever shown an interest in anything Superhero, I decided to take him to the fabric store and let him pick out fabric for a superhero cape.
He was so excited. I told him he could choose two colors for his cape so that it could be reversible.
Driving there he kept telling me that he was going to choose pink and purple.
Yep.
But I didn't say anything, and just let him keep thinking about what colors he wanted.
Luckily, at the last minute, he changed his mind and decided he really wanted red and yellow. He also chose blue and green for Carter.
At the cut counter the lady asked what we were making. When we told her superhero capes, she asked Kaeden, "Oh, is this one for the Green Lantern?"
He just stared at her, while I discreetly shook my head and whispered, "Yeah, he doesn't really know anything about superheros. A few minutes ago this was going to be pink and purple, so let's not press it."
We went home that day, Kaeden was so excited for his new cape, I set the fabric aside to do something, and then...
Life happened.
And now, a month later, I've FINALLY made the superhero capes.
BEHOLD!
Don't you just love how Kaeden is ALWAYS in his underoos? Carter on the other hand, hates if he's not fully dressed. Go figure.
Kaeden tells everyone he is Spiderman. I think it's because it's the only Superhero he can think of. Looks more like an Ironman to me, but whatevs. Guess this mom of two boys needs to start brushing up on her Superhero knowledge.
Kaeden was pretty excited to pose in his new cape. I'll spare you from the 10 different poses he gave while Carter just stood there looking exactly the same.
The best part of Superhero capes?
Now Kade can really FLY!
Carter too. Just a few steps down.
Love that he has to be just like his big brother, right down to his yelling of "FWY!" as he jumps.
These boys. I think they are going to have a lot of fun together.
