A Bit Obsessed
To say Carterbabes is "particular" would be an understatement.
This kid has an obsessive personality that has me wondering if one day he will be the star of an episode of Hoarders.
The hat? He found it and has been wearing it non-stop today. He even wore it during his nap.
Same with his boots that you can't see under his blanket.
And speaking of that blanket. He calls it his nigh-nigh. It goes everywhere with him.
There's the binkie that I don't think we'll be getting rid of for a loooooong time. I've told everyone that I really don't care if he shows up to Kindergarten with it. For all I've gone through with this kid, him having a binkie past an age appropriate time frame is really the least of my concerns. Did I mention that he calls his binkie his "this"? I think he picked that name up because we'd always hand it to him and say, "Do you want this?" So if you are babysitting him, and he's wandering around crying, "I want this," now you know.
The bottle. Another thing we should get rid of soon. Kade had his until he was two-and-a-half. Mainly because milk was his primary form of sustenance. Sometimes I wish we wouldn't have taken that bottle away, because the second we did, he stopped drinking milk. I kid you not. He has not had a drop of milk since November 2010. Carter is already showing that he's a better eater than Kaeden. In fact, I think he's weaning himself off the bottle. That one he's holding he's had since this morning. No refills. He doesn't really drink it anymore, but still wants it around for security reasons. At any given time he must have his baba, nigh-nigh, and this.
And last but not least, we have his bear. My mom gave him the bear for Valentine's. He named his Oso, after his new latest obsession: Special Agent Oso on the Disney Channel. Carter went from not having an interest in TV to being obsessed with watching Oso all in one day. We hear him whining, "Want Oso! Want Oso" all the time now. In fact, it's what he is watching in this picture.
His obsessions can be tiring. Not only do I have to remember to have them all on hand at any given time [especially when we leave the house], but I usually have to carry him [and all of those things] when I am out.
But they bring him comfort.
And sometimes, that's all this kid needs.
It's the simple things.
