It's no secret that Kaeden has been subjected to my happy camera snapping for nearly four years now.
It's also no secret that over those years, I've well documented the evolution of his smile.
From his first little baby smile, to his mouth-wide-open smile, to his happy little grins.
We've also covered all his weird little poses he's added to his repertoire while "smiling" for the camera.
But Kaeden's on-camera smile has reached an all time low.
We'll be out doing something fun, Kaeden having a blast, and I'll say, "Kaeden, look at the camera and smile."
And this is what I get:
And even though he's totally enjoying himself, and happy to be doing whatever I'm trying to snap a picture of him doing, all I feel like his smile says is:
"I'm mildly disappointed in life."
I mean, this kid has a beautiful smile. When he's truly happy, his whole face lights up and it even feels like those giant eyes are smiling at you.
But pull out a camera and....
Wah. Wah. Wah. The emotionless child walked into the room!
This picture for example. Kaeden couldn't be happier that he's with his girl, getting his Easter egg hunt on. But you wouldn't know it!
So Meredith tried to snap the look of mild disdain off his face by asking Kaeden to "smile and show me your teeth!"
Nope.
No really Kaeden. Smile and show me your teeth!
Never mind buddy. Nevermind.
