Every year my family heads to Millsite Reservoir for a camping trip. My family is up there for a full week, but this year Jeff and I decided to make it a quick weekend trip.
So we loaded up the car and baby.
Thankfully this year it required a lot less packing than it did last year:
Millsite is a beautiful little reservoir. I love it because the lake is small, and the campsites are clean. It's so small that we generally have all the campsites rented out. So no matter where you wander, there is a friendly face.
It's located in castle country, so the rock formations all around are just gorgeous. Especially when a storm is coming in.
But for some reason this rock formation is my favorite. :)
Kaeden took no time settling in. He saw the big bucket of bubble stuff, and he was immediately entertained.
We spent most of the weekend borrowing my family's four wheelers and going out on scenic rides.
Here's Kaeden on the four wheeler with my uncle Chuck and Kaeden's best buddy Sage.
It was a requirement that kids have helmets on in our campground, so all the kids were wearing some bike helmets some other kids had brought up.
Not my kid though. No, his noggin was too big. Instead he fit into my mom's motorcycle helmet. No joke.
Kaeden loved the four wheeler rides. I think it's because he got to be sandwiched right between mommy and daddy.
He also loved waving goodbye to everyone as we left camp.
I love this next picture for two reasons: 1. Because it captures my sicknast camp hair so beautifully, and 2. Because I took it by holding the camera over my head while riding on the four wheeler. Watch out! Here comes the troops!
We went on a long ride up to a lookout point where you could view the lake from. It was so long, Kaeden actually fell asleep on the way.
Once we got there, the view was awesome though.
Back in the distance you can see the lake. Impressive huh?
Well, in reality we were actually this far away:
See the lake now?
It was up here that we actually got the best family pic we've taken in awhile.
Little did we know. We're actually a family of four in this pic. :)
