So I haven't blogged lately.
We've been busy and doing a lot, just nothing too note-worthy.
You know, same old, same old. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
So let's have a brief recap of the last few (okay, maybe four) weeks.
Kaeden suffered his first dog bite. It wasn't at the jaws of Milo, and for that we are greatful.
Because the mental anguish of knowing that his best friend bit him might have put Kaeden over the edge.
In regular Kaeden fashion, there were a few tears, and then he was over it.
Because it was a puncture wound to the face the doctor put him on antibiotics to make sure he didn't get an infection. Lesson learned: Not all dogs enjoy Kaeden as much as he enjoys them.
We had some house guests for a few weeks.
Kaeden loves house guests.
He also likes to follow them downstairs, and throw fits when certain baby gates inhibit him from doing so.
Please, please, please?
Fine, I'll just FREAK out!
Joyful.
Ever since Jeff discovered all the awesomeness that is Xbox Live, there's been a lot of this going on:
Kaeden has even caught the bug:
The first week of February we celebrated Jeff's 29th birthday. Umm yeah, he's almost 30 which is like, you know, pretty much death. No, my husband is not dramatic. At all.
To celebrate I decided to look up the recipe for his favorite Oreo Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. After purchasing all the supplies and halfway through the mixing process I thought, "Wait a minute. It's the cookie dough cheesecake he always gets." So much for trying.
The cheesecake turned out perfect though.
And I'm officially in love with spring form pans. Nevermind that a few days earlier I had to Google what exactly that was.
What else? What else?
A Hydrocoach obsession has overtaken the household:
Leaving me drinking lots and lots of water:
I got a little bit of my craft on:
And my super-duper-one-day-I-want-to-create-this list of awesomeness continues to grow. Seriously lots of good craft blogs out there. I have so many decorating ideas in stock pile that I'm thinking it could be a full-time job. Wanna hire me? You know. To decorate my house?
Kaeden and Milo continued to bond:
We wonder why Milo puts up with so much from Kaeden (like hair pulling, chasing, trying to stomp him out, etc). But then we realized, it's a mutually beneficial relationship:
Mommy finally bit the bullet and cut her hair.
And I absolutely love it.
We closed out the last few weeks with another few trips to the doctor for Kaeden. His croup cough has never gone away often causing him to throw up when being active. Let's just say there's been a lot of throwing up going on.
When he woke up in the middle of the night struggling to breath again, we took him to the pediatric emergi-care. There they gave him a breathing treatment which he fought against with all he had. The aftermath? This sad little red face.
Imagine his disappointment when it didn't take, so it was time for round two. Luckily he wore himself out with the first one, and the second one went a little easier.
The doctors now think he's got asthma, so we have the joy of doing breathing treatments at home. Luckily for us, he's adjusted well. Now we pull out the mask (his name is Bubbles the Fish) and Kaeden opens his mouth wide and begins breathing deep. I seriously love this kid.
The last week Jeff and I spent some time helping my family clean out my grandpa's house. He passed away last October, and since everyone lives out of town, we're just now getting around to clearing out his home.
He was a bit of a pack rat, so there's been a lot of clearing out to do, but I enjoyed spending some time getting to understand him a bit better through his "stuff". For some reason I just felt like I needed to be there to help out, so I took some time off and pitched in as much as I could. Although the work was sometimes overwhelming, I'm glad I had the opportunity to do it.
And to round out this smorgasbord of randomness, I give you Kaeden and his new found ability to "pose" for the camera. He pulls these faces shortly after saying, "Cheese". I have no clue what he's thinking, but I love him anyway.

That dog bit mark makes me sad :(
But the pic of Kaden and Milo snuggling makes me happy.
Your hair looks cute, I meant to tell you that as we were running out the door - we were trying to sneak out quickly to make up time and avoid Sammie crying. Our computer only occasionally runs, so I hadn't been able to see any blogs or coherently facebook for the past couple of months. The asthma thing sucks, they do get used to it and at least the treatments are not as harsh as they were when Jeff was little. Sorry to hear about that, though.
