Where the Magic Happens

Thanks for the title MTV Cribs. Don't know what I'd do without you and your crazy celebrities introducing us to their bedrooms.

Anyhoodle, on to the master bathroom and bedroom. Can I just say that as much as I rip on the guy [girl? family? I honestly don't know!] who owned the house prior, I can honestly say two things about them. 1] They did a great job building the house and putting upgrades in EVERYWHERE. 2] Being put in their shoes and losing hundreds of thousands of dollars on a house they probably put their heart and soul into, I can't say I wouldn't have done a lot of what he/she/they did. Other than it's illegal, but when your desperate, where exactly does the law fall anyway? Moving on...

Here is a before pic of the master bedroom

See that house in the background? It's re-dunk-u-lous [thanks Ryan Cabrera]. I've never actually been in it, but what I know about it, and what I have seen while creepily peering through the windows: awesome. When we met the guy who bought it, we were surprised to learn that he was a bachelor. When my mom learned that he was a bachelor, she was excited to learn if he was single. Too bad the age difference would probably be a little hard to get over. Besides, my mom isn't a money-grubber anyway. But I digress....

Here's an after view of the bedroom.

I used to really like our bedroom furniture, but now I'm ready for something different. It just doesn't "work" in this room. Something about the cherry wood with the alder just doesn't jive for me. But for now, it gets the job done.

Here's another before pic: Fireplace in the bedroom? I know. [It'll probably never get used].

And an after:

Jeff would again like me to note that a 50" LED TV would fit perfectly here. When I decorated above the mantle he looked at me with the biggest concern in his eyes and said, "When we get a TV, where's that stuff going?" I, looking bewildered, replied, "Somewhere else." Tough one buddy. Boys and their toys.

Here's the master bathroom. More orange stickers, more light fixtures on the counters. Yada, yada.

And here's an after. Still have a few things to finish [patching the holes, pictures in the frames, etc], but pretty close to done!

And now you know.

I LOVE the brown and turquoise. That's what we are doing our room in. But all I have is bedding. No decorations. haha. How long have we lived in our house? 2 years and I've done basically nothing... Big plans I had. Oh well... The room is a lot bigger than I thought in the picture of it empty. It's great. And we want a fireplace in our bedroom. Electric, of course. A real one would never get used and would make our house smell (We have a real one in our living room and J. wont let me use it... kind of makes me sad).

How fun that your getting it all put together! I can't wait to see Kaedens room.
