I cannot believe my little guy is already one month! Next thing I know he's going to be 18, telling me how much of a loser I am, and wanting to move out! :)
Kaeden and I are really getting in synch with one another. We have a routine, and if I stick to it, all are happy. He is generally a very happy kid. The only time we seem to have problems is when he opens his eyes from sleeping and doesn't immediately have a food source attached to his lips. Darn those bottle warmers for not heating up fast enough in the middle of the night! :)
Things Kaeden is doing now:
* He suddenly (as of 2 days ago) has a love for ceiling fans. They don't even have to be turned on. If he's upset or needs entertaining, position him in line-sight of one, and he is a happy camper.
* He is moving his neck more. He has done this since birth, but it's getting stronger and stronger. So are his legs and arms!
* I swear he giggled at me the other day....but he is starting to babble a little. They sound close to his insincere cries (the ones where I think he is just trying to make noise rather than tell me something is seriously wrong). They sound a lot like "eye" "eyyye".
* He is sleeping a little better. It's really random how long he'll sleep, but it's usually about 3-4 hours at a time. (Yay?)
* He has a lot more awake time during the day. His day usually consists of the following: wake up immediately needing to eat. Finish eating and spend about 45 -90 mins awake (usually enjoying a ceiling fan), wimper to get swaddled, sit in someone's arms swaddled for about 20 mins, and drift to sleep. Then we start it all over again a few hours later!
* Even though he is a big kid (we've measured right around 10 lbs!), he still has a hard time fitting into any of his newborn clothes. He's got a few onesies that fit, but I'm itchin' to get him fitting into his closet of cute clothes! He is a rather thin baby, just really long, so I think that is why he looks so big (or it could be the full head of hair that has caused him to never really look like a newborn!).
Happy one month birthday baby boy! Daddy and I ordered for a few firework shows around town to celebrate. Enjoy! :)
