Someone is going to be turning two next month.
One thing I know he'll have mastered for this year's party?
Blowing out his candles.
Kid has a pyromaniac-style addiction to blowing out candles.
He'll randomly yell at me during the day, "Mom, Blow!!"
Meaning: Give me a candle to blow out.
When I don't immediately jump to it, he'll go to our junk drawer and pull out the Scripto lighter himself.
Yes.
This kid keeps me on my toes.
When I light a candle for him, he'll blow it out and expect me to keep lighting it until he's had his fill.
Since lighting fire at his every whim is not realistic, we've come up with more creative ways to feed his desire to blow out a flame.
Sometimes we'll just walk around the house and pretend to blow out candles that are not lit.
As he's gotten older though, he's become less interested in this option.
Jeff drew him a candle on some paper the other day, and Carter walked around the house so pleased with his hand-held "blow."
But let's face it.
Nothing makes this kid happier than the real thing.
I'm currently trying to think how to creatively put 346874654 candles on his birthday cake next month without lighting the entire house on fire.
I know it will be the highlight of his day. Possibly year.
