Duso the Dolphin
At Kaeden's preschool they have a thing where Duso the Dolphin comes home with your child during the week, and each night the child is supposed to dictate to you what he/she did with Duso during the day so that you can write it down in a little journal thing.
Kaeden came walking out of school on Monday, so excited to have Duso with him. The whole ride home he was talking to Duso and telling him all the things they were going to do. First up: the two of them shared a lunch of "pizza bread" aka sliced french bread. Don't even ask how sliced french bread has evolved into "pizza bread". Nor why sliced french bread has become a sufficient lunch for this kid. I took this picture as Kaeden was making Duso pretend to eat the bread.
Don't worry. His obsession with the Dolphin doing EVERYTHING with him waned by about 4 pm. At that point we just kept asking, "Hey where's Duso?" "Shouldn't you have Duso?"
Our weeks worth of entries into Duso's journal were not some his brightest by way of adventure or interest. I was having a particularly rough week this week, and had to refrain from writing, "Today Duso and I spent the day watching Mommy cry." Could you imagine the other parents describing those entries to their kids on their week to bring Duso home? Some of the entries I read Kaeden talked about going to violin practice, and birthday parties. Kinda made me feel like a craptastic mother.
Hey Duso. I'm not sad to see you go. Unfortunately I know you'll be back before the year is through.
