Christmas morning we woke up with one last number left on our advent calendar. Our instructions were simple:
Before all my boys woke up, I took a few moments to admire our tree and decorations. The glow of our tree made all the hard work and running around over the past few weeks all worth it. I knew my boys would be so excited to see gifts under the tree, and it was all I could do not to go wake them myself.
Santa even remembered to stuff our stockings. Notice the two rolls of wrapping paper by the mantle? I decided that every year Kaeden [and Carter when he's old enough] will help me pick out special wrapping paper to leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve. That way, Santa can use our paper to wrap our gifts, and we'll know which ones are ours. It's a simple tradition, but something I think Kaeden will really enjoy.
When the boys woke up, their eyes were wide with all the gifts under the tree. When I asked which one Kaeden wanted to open first, he insisted on having Carter open the gift that he had picked out for him. I thought it was sweet that the thing he wanted to do most was share some of the fun with his brother.
Obviously Kaeden knows what Carter likes.
So Christmas morning continued with the opening of gifts,
Sharing excitement over what was inside,
And playing with new toys.
It was a lovely Christmas. Wishing the best to you and yours.
