Spotting the Differences

Like every mother, I was fascinated with ideas of what my growing baby #2 would look like.  Already having one child of the same sex as the our unborn baby, my mind could not fathom our new little boy looking anything but an exact replica of his big brother.

From birth Jeff and I (and everyone else for that matter) have tried to spot the similarities and differences between Kaeden and Carter.  I personally do not see a lot of resemblance, but agree with Jeff that they will look similar enough to know they are brothers.

Besides their glaringly different birth weight (2 lbs, even though they were born at the same gestational age!), there is one other key characteristic that has proven to separate these brothers. I give you the boys pictures shortly after birth:

At Birth

What? You don't see it? Well let's compare five months later:

See it now?

Where did Carter's hair go?

While both boys were born with a nice head of hair (insert obligatory heartburn question/comment here), Kaeden's continued to grow....and Carter's, well Carter's disappeared. I know it's not uncommon for babies to lose their hair, but with the mane Kaeden has had since birth, I just never imagined I'd have a bald baby.

And on top of all that, I think he's going to be a blondie!

Bald or not.... I love these boys!
