We headed over to Riverton Days with Merz, Brady, and Jane to get our 4th of July celebration on. Actually, I just went to people watch and look at the carnies. Oh, and I was NOT disappointed.
What I was disappointed with though is the youth of America. Seriously. These kids are freaks on a leash. Where are their parents? What are they wearing? Ugh. Yes, I just sounded like an old lady, but dude. I fear what life will be like when my kids are teens. Innocence lost. That's all I have to say.
We were only at the carnival for a short time, but I loved it. Kaeden and Jane loved all the rides too.
I love how Kaeden is looking at Jane in this picture like, "Isn't this the BEST?!?" and Jane is looking at the camera like, "Is this guy for real?" Pretty much sums up their relationship.
Props to Merz for taking this pic that made it look like the two of them might actually be exploring outer space in their little space ship.
This was another one of those events where I get to snapping a few pictures of the kids having fun, and about 3 pics in my camera battery dies. I say a few expletives, then start my harassment of Meredith telling her she HAS TO GIVE ME COPIES OF HER PICS. It's a sickness. Pictures are my heroin, and cameras are my needle.
What I wish I would have had a picture of [although it would have been highly irresponsible as a mother] was when Kaeden [while riding a ride], leans out the side of the "vehicle" and keeps yelling to me, "Mommy! Ight!" "Mommy! Ight!".
He was thrilled with the flashing lights on the side of his cart. In the meantime, all four of us adults were yelling, "KAEDEN SIT DOWN!!" all while the carny running the ride glared at me as she had her hand hovering over the emergency stop button silently saying, "Woman. Don't make me use this."
I'm happy to report that the ride ended with no children falling out of it.
We stayed around the carnival long enough to find a seat for the firework show.
What you can kind of see in this picture is half of Brady holding his hands over Jane's ears. She kinda HATES fireworks. Kaeden, being a boy, loved them. Anything that explodes with color and noise is alright by him.
Since Jane was not enjoying the show at all, we headed back to the cars. Once Meredith got Jane in the front seat, she was loving the show. Apparently it's just the noise she despises. Kaeden took a perch on the top of our car to finish out the show, and I can't tell you how much I love these pictures of my all-american boy.
