Hail Storm

The weather here in Utah has been very fickle.  One day it's all birds and sunshine making us feel that Spring has sprung, and then the next morning you wake up to the most ominous dark sky.  You'd think I'd be used to it after 26 years, but it still gets me each. and. every. year.

This morning was one of those mornings when we woke up to darkness.  It snowed off and on, and basically made me thankful that I didn't have anything pulling me out of the house today.

And then suddenly the storm outside got rather loud.  When Kaeden and I looked outside, I realized we were having a fairly decent hailstorm.

I excitedly took Kaeden outside.  Knowing how much he loved snow, I figured hail would be a big hit.  I wanted to get a picture of him holding the hail since every time he tried to hold a snowflake it would melt too quickly for him to thoroughly inspect it.

So I grab a handful of hail and tried to have Kaeden hold out his hand for me to place it in his palm and take a photo.  Instead, he grabbed the handful of hail and immediately shoved it in his mouth.

The kid seriously ate the entire handful in one bite. He then looked at me and gave me his sign language sign for "more".

I briefly thought about how my kid just ingested an entire handful of pollution packaged in cold little balls, but...it was fleeting.

I stopped my bad parenting at two handfuls, but that didn't stop Kaeden from looking longingly at his hands for more.

With chipmunk cheeks full of hail that is.

In regards to the first deleted comment: it was from me... I was signed in as Casey...

Love copy and paste.

In regards to the second deleted comment: Spelling mistakes and mistyped sentences keep me from sleeping at night.

Again, Love Copy and Paste... now if only they had an effing edit option for comments...

This is my comment once and for all...20 minutes , it took me. :)

Oh my gosh! lipstick on my screen from an uncontrollable urge to kiss that gorgeous face of his! That last picture- To die for... That's when you're happy they're too consumed with activities like eating hail, stacking blocks and Watching Yo Gabba to take advantage of a lucrative situation... because I swear if K asked me for a private helicopter while making that face... I'd probably go straight to craigslist and look under the helicopters for sale section:)
One time I watched my friend's toddler shovel so much sand down his throat and I was all, uhhh should I stop him? And she was like, Nah, he'll live. And I thought, hmmm I like that approach. I mean, Ginger crawling up the stairs seems more of a risk then then her eating dirt and sand and dog food, (the list is endless). And so I'm like have at it girlfriend. She seems to want fewer and fewer servings of dirt now, so maybe she just needed to get it out of her system. Oh and dont worry yesterday I pulled a tiny piece of dog poop out of her mouth. After you barf please dont turn me into child services... bc Im pretty sure animal poop could have some potentially dangerous ingredients. I laughed it off as my neighbor watched in horror. And then 10 minutes later G decided she wanted more poo and tried another piece. And that's when I decided we'd better go inside because neighbor chick was giving me the "I'll report your ass" look.

What was i saying? Oh right. I want to eat your kid. He's beyond adorable.

Cant wait for one of your friends to read this comment and be like, this dame is weird.
and long winded.

Love ya doll, love your posts. Kiss those gorgeous Kbaby cheeks for me.
