I'm Working On It!

So, many of you have been wondering where the heck I've been in the blog world. [okay, so no one really has per se, but that's how I make myself feel good....about myself....]. Moving on!

Jeff and I are still working on getting settled into our new home. We moved when most the contract work was finished, but there were still [and still is] a lot of little things here and that need attention.

For example: heater vents. Seriously? Who would have thought it would have been so difficult to find heater vents that don't look green next to your carpet? I even tried Googling heater vents thinking I would find a mecca. Um no. "Heater Vents" and "Heat Registers" are like the black hole of Google. Trust me.

Oh, then there was the fun little experience we had of our sewer line backing up into our house at 10 p.m. on a Saturday night. Oh, and we were hosting friends over. Oh, and did I mention that actual poop [yes poop] was coming up through our basement bathtub drains? Mmmmhmmmm......nothing says "close friends" like sharing poop.

Lucky for us we paid the extra $150 for the RotoRooter guys to come back on Monday and do the little camera doo-hickey thing to double check that we didn't have some catastrophic damage somewhere between our house and the city sewer line. You know, they had us all worked up about buying a foreclosure without getting it done prior. We were even told that if there was a problem with the line, we were looking at $20,000 minimum. Thanks RotoRooter guy. I didn't want to sleep anyway.

Monday rolled around, and I seriously felt like a proud parent when the camera guy told me that everything looked, "pristine." I'll be honest. I'm surprised he knew the word "pristine." But I didn't care. I had a pristine sewer line. The pride still overwhelms.

Anyway....we are loving this house. For the first time since I moved out of my mom's house, I feel like I'm home again. Jeff and I built our first home together, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, we never got the chance to make that house feel like home [we knew we were going to have to sell before the foundation had even finished curing]. But this house....this house I am committing myself to. It's amazing. One day I'll get around to showing you.

But for now, I'll give you a view of my world.

Yes. That's my garage. The garage of crap that we still have to unpack and find a new home for. The garage that we cannot park in because of said crap. We really don't have that much more to go, but of course, individuals of the male influence were the ones who unloaded the moving truck, and therefore there was no rhyme or reason as to where everything was scattered. A little organization, and I'm thinking our cars could come in from this crazy May weather. Just sayin'.

Do you want to play Where's Waldo? Instead of searching for a crazy little dude in a striped scarf, let's find what random pieces of junk sit in my garage. Wait...... Let's not. That could be a little embarrassing.

Hey, I have been wondering where you've been! You post like once a month, and I never hear from you anymore.

But your cute little guy completely makes up for it.
