So here's the beginning of the before and afters.
Our new home is a rambler, but it has a loft area above the garage. Jeff wanted it for a "really cool teenager's room." I however, had other plans.
Here is the before pictures of the loft:
Just a big open room. You may notice a few things missing....I don't know...the carpet, doors, every single light switch and outlet. Yeah. The joys of buying a foreclosure. But I can't complain! We also got a killer deal. Plus, at least he left the blinds [...in this room].
When our contractors were done working their magic, this was the result [add some IKEA office furniture too]:
Oila! Here's where I spend the majority of my day. My new office! I LOVE this room. Of course I have a lot more plans for it decorating-wise, but sometimes life just throws you curveballs, and you have to put all your plans on hold. In my case, my plans keep getting bigger and bigger....BUT, as we say around our house.....ONE DAY.
This room actually serves a dual purpose. It's an office and the play room. That way Kaeden can be right in my sight while I'm working.
ONE DAY we will get a matching black TV stand to put under this TV [and hide the cords]. ONE DAY we might even get a flat screen. I also want get a couple of cute bean bags for Kaeden to enjoy Barney on. Yes. He's already showing preference. Shoot me now!
ONE DAY I hope to get a little black table and chairs to put in the window nook that you can see in some of the pictures. It will give Kaeden a place to color, draw, and do crafts.
ONE DAY I will finish this bookcase/toy holder and find some baskets to hold all the toys in.
Oh, and of course ONE DAY I'll get some decor on the walls.
In the meantime however, I LOVE this area. It serves my purpose well. It let's me spread out and feel organized.
Speaking of organization....I'm a bit of a freak.
Here's the before of the closet in the loft [the door to the right is the bathroom. I haven't even TOUCHED it. Literally still has nails in it from the guys who hung the doors....ONE DAY]:
And here's the after:
Obviously we still have some work to do on the house before it's fully restored. Such as the wall patch we still need to paint. That's a project Jeff's been working on. The house is filled with holes along the baseboards and casings. That comes from a crowbar prying all the wood out of the house. Nice.
And yes. That's a safari Mr. Potatohead having a timeout in the corner. Jealous?

WOW looks amazing Ashley! Those doors are gorgeous good work!!
I LOVE Alder! We have a wall of cabinets and our kitchen is Alder, but we wish our house was filled with it. But that would have costed a lot more in a home that we don't plan on spending the rest of our lives.
These afters look amazing. Such a transition. Looks like a home! Such a rip the guy took the doors and molding! I hope the bank took that into consideration because those are expensive to have replaced.
I can't wait to see the rest and get the tour for myself! (I'm most excited about your SIX bathrooms!!!)
