A close family member of mine spent a long time being sick with a mystery illness. She went to every possible doctor and had every possible test run over the course of many months.


The final diagnosis?


"Unspecified White Matter Brain Disease" accompanied with "An Essential Tremor Presenting Itself in An Unusual Manner." This is seriously a permanant record in her medical file.


After laughing my butt off about it [why name it a disease when you don't really know?], I thought--Wouldn't it be less insulting if the doctor's just said, "We don't know."?
