Weekly Update

So yet again it was a rather uneventful week here. A few noteworthy events took place, but nothing with a picture attached. Because of this, you are now going to be subjected to one of my long journal-type entries.....

Jeff finally performed his speech that he has been having serious angst over for about a month. His work held a seminar for 27 doctors, and Jeff was one of the speakers for the night. He had worked so hard on putting a nice presentation together, and after all was said and done he said he would have rated himself with a B+. I guess his part of the presentation went off without a hitch. He presented all the information he wanted and even was entertaining enough to get some chuckles out of the audience here and there. His lowered his score a little because I guess there were some technical difficulties in switching between computer applications (part of the presentation was debuting some dental software). Jeff ended up having to power down his comptuer and then restart which took about 10 minutes total. I was proud of him for confidently getting up there and doing that. I'm sure he'll be having to do it again in the future!

We had another doctor's appointment last Monday. No real news to report about it. Baby Kade is measuring about 3 weeks ahead. I asked my doc if he got too much bigger if he would decide to induce me, and he said no. If things got crazy, I would be sent in for another ultrasound, but he doesn't feel that inducing labor is ever the best option. He pointed out that if you tried to induce a body that just isn't ready, most likely it will end in a C-section which is what we would be trying to avoid in the first place (if the baby were too huge I'd have a C-section anyway). He told me that bottom line is you don't know how big of a baby your body can handle until you get there, and him measuring big might just be excess amniotic fluid or something like that. So...it's just a waiting game. I have until June 2nd to wait....if I go into labor anytime after that, Kaeden is considered full-term, and they will not do anything to try to stop the labor process. I have a weird feeling that he might come early, but I'm not getting my hopes up either. I know it's kind of rare to go early with your first. If one more person tells me how "cool" it would be if he were born on my birthday, I'll probably have to slap them....that means he'd be two weeks late. If I'm two weeks late, you better believe some heads will be rolling! JK. Next doctor's appointment is June 2nd where we get to check if I'm dilating or anything at all. From that point 0n I have weekly appointments. It's getting so close! I'm kind of freaking out because I'm getting closer and closer to feeling like I'm just done with all this, but at the same time, I feel like I still need as much time as possible to fully prepare for his arrival.

We've had a lot of action on our house in the last few days. Between Friday and Saturday we had 3 agents bring their clients through. We haven't heard any word on people's reaction, but we're hoping for an offer sooner or later. We're sick of the commute! Gas is killing us (especially in our gas-hog Tahoe).

Last but not least, baby season has officially kicked off....Baby Jane (Brady and Meredith's new daughter) was born this week. I think she ended up being 8 lbs 9 oz! She is adorable and has a nearly full head of hair. So cute! I should be next and then the babies keep rolling in! I don't know if I already posted something about this, but Kaeden's cousin due in September is going to be a girl (I think her name is going to be Isabelle). I'm so excited for him to have a cousin close to his age (not that he won't have a ton of "cousins" from other families all right around his age).
