It's Been Awhile....

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, so I decided to give you all a special treat (read sarcastically), and do one of those Getting to Know You questionaires. Here Goes.....please note, none of "My 8's" are in any particular order.

8 things I'm passionate about:
1) This little man growing inside me
2) My family
3) Putting my personal best into everything I do
4) Bakery gooods
5) Making sure people feel loved and appreciated
6) Having a happy home
7) My work (sounds like I save lives for a living or something, doesn't it?)
8) My friends

8 things I hate:
1) Violence
2) Scary and violent movies
3) Yardwork (although having my own house is slowly changing my ways)
4) Trying to sell our house
5) When I feel that someone feels left out, alone, mistreated, etc.
6) Bugs --any kind. I don't care how "harmless" you try to tell me they are
7) When it's been two weeks since I've updated my blog
8) The first 17 weeks of pregnancy
9) I thought of a ninth--when the formatting function of this blog seems to rally against me! GRRR!

8 Fond Memories of Childhood:
1) Pollywog catching at the local cemetary pond. We'd wait until my mom left for work and then ride our bikes down there with all the neighborhood kids
2) My mom packing the coolest sack lunches whenever we had a field trip. Kids would get jealous....we'd have the best turkey sandwich (from the golf course coffee shop of course!), a huge cookie, and a Koala drink. No one had Koala's back then!
3) Making the most elaborate forts in our spare room out of sheets. Brit and I had rooms in those things! Looking back, I don't know how we had so many "spare" sheets lying around the house.
4) Making the most elaborate forts out of Costco boxes in Texas. I had a garage on one of mine, and drapes, painted walls, etc.
5) Playing "house" with Brit and TJ. For some reason TJ always persuaded the plotline to go the same way....I was a mom and Brit was my kid. TJ was a body guard....named Jason. For some reason, my kid was forever getting kidnapped which left Brit and TJ off running around wildly, while I sat at home "waiting". Fun.
6) The year I got the coolest Schwinn bike for my birthday. It's was a full-blown adult mountain bike. And it was purple! I was so excited to ride it, I forgot about it's braking capabilities, and ran it right into a chain link fence. Ouch!
7) Anytime we got to go the the golf course coffee shop. Grandma and my mom were wizards on the huge grill. My favorite treat....grilled ham and cheese, french fries, and a Koala drink.
8) When Kari and Chuck switched our family watersports from "traditional" (i.e. skiiing, knee-boarding, etc.) to "barefoot." Don't get me wrong, it was always scary going on the boat because Chuck made everyone on the boat participate in some sort of watersport regardless of your fear level. If you didn't do something, you weren't going to be invited back. The advantage of barefoot waterskiing is that unless you are really good and can do that long line stuff, you get to hold onto a bar that comes off the side of the boat. No more fear of being all alone in the water! It was even better when some genius invented the swing that made it so that you never left the side of the boat!

8 things I say often:
1) Lately it's probably been grunts, drawn out sighs, and deep breaths. Moving around with this belly is hard!
2) No worries
3) Sure, I'll do that (I've got to get this one out of my vocabulary)
4) Do you have the bubby? (When asking Jeff if he knows where the dorkie yorkie is)
5) Milo! Milo! Come here NOW! (When trying to get Milo to come back in the house during a potty break at 3 a.m. He has not respect for me.)
6) But Baby Kaeden wants it (usually a phrase I say to myself whenever I am justifying why I want to make a trip to the local bakery)
7) I can't wait until we live up here (talking about living back in Salt Lake County)
8) **Sniffle, Sniffle** I don't know why I'm crying. I just feel like it. I can cry okay? (Jeff's least favorite one as of late)

8 random things about me:
1) I don't know the exact color of my natural hair. I'm think it's something like a dirty blond, drab light brown, and grey combo.
2) I have finally found a new love for text messaging. Although rather impersonal, sometimes it allows you to say just what you need to say, without the stress of a drawn out conversation.
3) I think that if I ever found myself jobless, I would run to the local Costco and apply to be a checker. I actually think I would really enjoy myself.
4) I'm not a great cook, but luckily my husband is. If I take out the meat to defrost, he'll turn it into a wonderful meal at the end of the night.
5) I have many people in my life who I would consider "parents"
6) I love to organize. It's relaxing to me. I get more "oodles" of pleasure from organizing a messy closet, room, etc., then is probably healthy.
7) Surprisingly, I haven't not really had a fear of labor and delivery now that I am pregnant. I used to think about having kids and work up a sweat thinking about all of that. Right now I'm very calm...I'm sure it will change though.
8) I have a problem with food. If there is food in front of me, I will eat it. Regardless of how full I am, how disgusting I think the food is, etc. I will eat it.

8 things I want to do before I die:
1) Finally reach the point where I don't have lists of things I need to get done running in the back of my mind. I want to just "be".
2) Travel. I don't know where exactly, because I don't necessarily have a desire to "travel the world", but I just want to continue to travel.
3) Learn a second language, then go somewhere where I can use it
4) Do something others remember me by. I don't know what this would be....
5) Get a chance to do all the projects I want to do: scrapbook my life, write a journal, etc.
6) Be a teacher of some sort. I used to want to be an elementary teacher, but now I just want to have the chance to teach something....
7) Get to a point in my life where I can be "Hollywood" if I want to. I've never considered myself a high maintenance person, but I wouldn't mind the ability to be high maintenance every now and then.
8) Be the type of mommy that my mom was/is to me.

8 things I've learned this past year:
1) Two week vacations can actually be a lot of work....but well worth it in the end.
2) Believe Jeff when he says that I will get pregnant on the first try, and that he only makes boys.
3) I need to continually work on making me and my wants a priority in my life.
4) I have a great husband
5) I am blessed with many people around me who love me and care about me.
6) When you are offered a raise at work...take it. Don't short-change yourself and what you do!
7) Raising a buppy (little dog) is like raising a child (I know, not really, but at least it feels like it.)
8) I am an internet shopping queen. Please bow down.
